Coming Together for Analea McGarey
Sonoma Community Center
Saturday April 28 - 1:00pm

A two-day benefit for Analea McGarey, well-known local massage therapist and author of "Born to Heal,'' a biography of her mother and holistic healer Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey, is planned for the weekend of Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29. Analea, of Glen Ellen, is battling breast cancer and has had to give up her livliehood while in treatment. This has left her with no income to support herself. . Her multitude of friends have planned this benefit out of love and a great admiration for her as the healer she has been to many in Sonoma and surrounding areas.

The weekend event will kick off on Saturday with an amazing trio of women from 3-6 p.m. at the Sonoma Womens’ Club located at 1st St. East, in downtown Sonoma. Analea's mother, Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey, an international pioneer in holistic medicine, will speak about her inspirational journey and experiences, including her recent trip to educate women about birthing in rural Afghanastan at age 83. Family friend and actress Lindsay Wagner, best known as the Bionic Woman, is also scheduled to appear and will sign autographs. Local resident, and pianist/composer Stephanie Ozer will entertain with her moving Brazilian & Contemporary Jazz, while guests enjoy an appetizer and wine reception . A $50 minimum donation is asked, but more will be gratefully accepted.

Sunday's activities run from 1-6 p.m. at the Andrews Hall/Sonoma Community Center, in downtown Sonoma on Napa Street. Several bands will perform, including local rock band Tudo Bem and the Marin County based retro music of Carie Lee & the Saddle-ites. Many valuable items will be included in a silent auction which will begin at 1:00 with a live auction planned from 3-4 p.m. Auction items will include: a soft tub, a collection of local artists paintings, bi-plane rides, a two-day bed and breakfast stay and much more! The arts community is turning out in force to support one of their own with an amazing collection of art work for the auction. The $30 admission includes an appetizer buffet. A bake sale and raffle also will be held. 100% of all proceed will go directly to Analea. Tickets are available for both events in advance at Readers Books - 130 E. Napa Street or at Pharmaca - 303 West Napa Street, or at the door. Donations may be made to Analea at either of the Sonoma Valley Bank offices; 13751 Arnold Drive in Glen Ellen, or at 202 W. Napa Street in downtown Sonoma.

Attendance will bring dollars that can help Analea. If I can be of any assistance, you can reach me,
Lisa Storment at (707) 337-4371. or Liisa9009@hotmail.com. Thanks so much for your consideration!
